Call me sappy, call me childish, call me cliche, but i love the holidays. People smile more, are nicer, feel lighter. They get stressed trying to get everything done, trying to cross off all their gift lists, their to-do-lists. But after all’s said and done, they realize all of it’s worth it. That all the money they spent, the effort exerted to get all these things done are nothing compared to the look on your friend’s face when they open a gift you were so excited to give, the smiles you see when you lay the dish you slaved over all day on the table at Noche Buena.

I’m sorry I really like Christmas.

Like right now, I’m at the province just breathing in the happiness. Trying not to burst in the joy of the simplicity of being with your family just eating and laughing.

Sappy yes, but true.

Even though i can’t be with all the people I love (of course my friends all have families of their own) i know that they have their loved ones to spend the holiday with.

And if they don’t I’m a text and a bus ride away.
