The human heart was—and remains—a mystery to me. But I’m learning. I have to. —Anthony Bourdain

What I’m grateful for, week 33 of 52

1. The outdoors. I need to acknowledge how lucky I am to be able to experience the beauty of nature in these times. I may not be the most responsible right now, but I am taking in all I can before I go back to isolation.

2. Very long hugs from a beautiful soul. In an amazing twist of fate, a friend driving cross country was in the same city I was in for a few hours. I have admired and appreciated him since I met him, and to have a few hours with him was surreal. I am eternally grateful.

3. Interesting people. My comfort zone has been tested again and again, in weird and interesting ways this week. I feel like the more uncomfortable I get, the more I learn about myself. What I want. What I definitely don’t. And I feel better about not closing doors based on preconceived notions anymore.
